HAPPY ALMOST THANKSGIVING!

Sisters, it is good, to give thanks unto the Lord. He is good. This week reflect on those things you are thankful for. God is our keeper and sustainer. I am so thankful that he keeps me from harm, that he goes before me and sees what I fail to see. I thank him for my family and that he's brought us through!
I'm thankful for my church family, those who have watched me grow up, and have prayed for me and encouraged me. I am thankful that writing is a venue where I can vent, praise, and reflect.

Do you thank God that he loves you, in spite of you? Are you thankful that he provides for you? Are you thankful that he yet wants to do more? Being thankful does make those around you feel better. If you are being old and crochety, watch everyone run for cover. I'm just sayin' ya'll.

I am thankful to be in this generation where God is setting his kingdom in proper order. It is an exciting time! It is good to be alive in this season and to be a sheep in God's pasture, to feast on his goodness. Ok, I might start shouting right about here. Do you remember where you were when he found you? Don't worry if you don't, there are those happy to remind you :)

I put up some Richard Smallwood for this week, he knows how to give thanks unto the Lord. ENJOY!

Have a wonderful and blessed Turkey day.

PUSH!

This post is inspired by the movie Precious and the book PUSH by Sapphire. Precious has an abusive mother and father and two children fathered by her father, and she is what 16 or 17 and illiterate. As Precious is delivering her first child the nurse tells her "Baby you gonna have to PUSH!

As we age we start to assume our possibilities have run out. I am charging those of us 40 and above to start celebrating the rest of our lives. What did you do want to do in your youth that was never done? You can still do it. We must keep the awe and wonder that we had when we were younger. Some of us just bloom late.

Today my inspirational song is "That's the Way of the World" by EWF

Plant your flowers and they'll grow! Be a blessing to those around you!

Have a great weekend!

MISEDUCATION!

Ok Sisters, Nothing deep today:) I thought about this song by lauryn hill today. Lauryn's much awaited solo project was called The Misedcation of Lauryn Hill. The songs on the album reflect what she felt she has learned after living a little bit of this thing we call life.

If you haven't been under a rock, you know those closest to Lauryn are saying she is disturbed, confused, crazy......But if you flip this coin over--she's gifted. She got frustrated with what she saw around her and said, "I'm out"
I know her fans hope she will get herself together so we can get the music back....

P.S. I know I said no celebrities on my blog! Well I don't consider Lauryn a celebrity, I believe she is a called out one, I hope she'll answer the call.....

ARE YOU THIRSTY?

Every human being thirsts or hungers for something. What are you thirsy for? There was a period in my life where it seemed that everything I tried, failed. Notice I said "I tried". And before you get haughty, you have tried some stuff too.

I finally figured out that my refuge, who had been there all along, was beckoning me to commune with him through his word. Sometimes I didn't enjoy what he had to say. Nevertheless, the more I read his book the more I fell in love with Him. He had instructions for when I was in trouble, when there was hatred in my heart, when I couldn't forgive, when I wanted to harm someone who'd said a careless word.

He is the one who sustains us all whether we believe him or not. I thank him today! He is the living water, and because he is I don't have to drink from anywhere, but from his well. It's not always good, but He is good. Whatever the situation, he has the answer, but you can only find it in his book.

She who hungers and thirsts for righteousness, shall be filled. That's from the book. Yes, you will still have challenges, but you shall be filled. You may not have everything you want, but you'll have what you need. You may find your self friendless, but he is bread for the hungry and water for the thirsty.

When the woman went to the well, she went there for a drink. Jesus was there, he knew she would be there. But he asked her "would you give me to drink" and she knew she had nothing to offer him. She knew he was a Jew, which meant high class, for that day. Jesus had need to go through Samaria, that day. Samaratians were considered to be trash. Aren't you glad to know that he'll come into the trashy places? Sisters hold on to him and he is going to come down your street too. He's going to give you the desires of your heart! (John 4:5-42)

Don't thirst my sisters, for another pair of shoes, furniture, clothes, or a house. Thirst for the living God!

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU BUILD!

Sisters we have to be careful how we build. We cannot afford to prop our ladders against a building that may fall. Pride, hostility, envy, strife, and bitterness will keep us from being our greatest for God,

Hebrews 10:35 instructs us not to throw away our confidence because after we have done the will of God, we will receive the prize. I have not arrived, hear me! I am surrendering to God every day the things He doesn't need, and accepting what he does need from me.

Do not make time for for pity parties, victimhood, and fault finding. These are not good buildings. Depend on the Holy Spirit to help when you find yourself trying to drift back in these dark, non-productive places.

If it had not been for the word of God, where would we be? Hallelujah! If we stray from the will of God, God is so gracious to correct us himself or uses another saint to bring us back on course. Thank you Lord for the saints!

GET A VISION GIRL!

Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God] the people perish. Proverbs 29:18. Many of us cannot take the bible straight with no chaser. We reason and say, God didn't really mean that, or pray for me I'm struggling with that, or stop thumping your bible at me. All of us have said one of these at one time or another.

How many of us actually look further down the road say 5 or 10 years? A smaller practical way of having a vision is a simple to do list. I keep a list weekly of things I need to get done. Getting things we need to do done, will free us up to do things for our livelihood.

The bible says the diligent soul is made fat. (Proverbs 13:4) This scripture was the catalyst that set me on the course for finishing my degree and eventually graduating. Part A of this verse says that the soul of the sluggard (lazy person) desireth and hath nothing.

We all want to have something? Don't we girls? For each week, month and year set a target for faith, finances and family, and see the results. For finance it may be tithing--yes tithing! For your faith, increase your prayer time or your time with God and family spend more quality time together.
I know we can do it
